The only time I’ve ever seen the dude was when they had some grand opening ceremony for this new high rise condo building at Wilshire/Western called “Solara”. Dumb fuck was out there giving some speech about bringing businesses to the neighborhood and shit, you know standard crap. I’m not sure what he was thinking, as the cheapest condo in that building is over $1,000,000. Can you say “gentrification”? I’m pretty sure that slimeball got some sort of kickback from the builders, too.
Then there was the time he rode the red line to North Hollywood in some publicity stunt to talk about public transit in LA. Of course look where we are now, those morons still can’t decide what do to about the purple line extension.
They rose it for stupid reasons, there was a lot of Latino mobilization against it but it got zero press!
Yeah I saw the signs and stuff. The city and county governments of Los Angeles are a bunch of greedy fucks who back each other up constantly. They’re like the fucking mob, and Mayor Villaraigosa is one of the worst. I hate that glad-handing fake smiling fuck.
A monthly pass is $75.00. Used to be $62.00, but they raised the fares across the board this year. They’ve also reduced some routes and combined some others. All this after LA County voters approved Measure R, which was intended to commit “a projected $40 billion to traffic relief and transportation upgrades throughout the county over the next 30 years”.
Nice to see the money’s well spent. On what, I don’t know. Fuck them all with a rusty chainsaw.
It’s like the modern day version of window shopping. I like looking at the shit people are selling, and I’ve bought stuff & sold stuff on there, too.
Problem is, my brain starts to cramp after a while reading some of these ads. I mean I always thought most people were basically intelligent, you know? I didn’t want to let myself turn into some jaded cynical asshole who thinks everyone else is a stupid fucking idiot, but Craigslist isn’t helping me in this noble cause.
“Rep. Emanuel Cleaver, chairman of the Congressional Black Caucus, said early reports of the new deal appeared to be “a sugar-coated Satan sandwich.” The Missouri Democrat said the CBC hadn’t yet made a formal declaration that the group would oppose it, “but this is a shady bill.””—
If you don’t see what’s wrong with being a Nice Guy, it’s this: despite your “nice” actions, you are still living under the assumption that how you treat a woman entitles you to some sort of appreciation, or some part of her body. If you haven’t noticed by now, this makes you an asshole, too.
what is wrong with being nice and showing affection and expecting to get the same amount of affection in return?
So if a girl that you aren’t attracted to in any way, shape, or form is nice and shows affection to you, you are automatically going to show her the same amount of affection?
If she is nice to you then you should be nice back…. attractive or not
I said attracted to, not attractive. Someone doesn’t have to be “attractive” for you to be attracted to them. You also mentioned affection. You show affection to everyone? Because that’s, honestly, pretty creepy.
I feel it must be mentioned for Konrad’s sake that when people talk about “nice guys” like this, they’re not talking about guys who just happen to be nice. They’re talking about those guys who pretend to be a girl’s friend or treat her extra nice when all they want is sex in return.
There’s nothing wrong with being a nice person, as long as you’re nice just for the sake of being nice. When you start putting pressure on a woman to put out just because you were nice to her, then you’re a “nice guy”, not a nice guy.
“Go to any elite university and you are usually speaking to very disciplined people, people who have been selected for obedience. And that makes sense. If you’ve resisted the temptation to tell the teacher, “You’re an asshole,” which maybe he or she is, and if you don’t say, “That’s idiotic,” when you get a stupid assignment, you will gradually pass through the required filters. You will end up at a good college and eventually with a good job.”—
Right now West Coast rap is Tyler (LA) and Lil B (Berkeley) dominating the buzz
I’ve never heard of either of them lol. I listen to KDAY all the time when I listen to the radio, maybe that has something to do with it. I dunno, I can’t listen to Power 106 for more than like 5 minutes.
The Bay Area held it down for a bit but I guess you meant Dre, Snoop, Nate, Kurupt etc…
Well I like Bay Area stuff too, but we haven’t seen the likes of Tupac, Dre, Snoop (earlier albums), Dogg Pound, etc. for a long ass time. The Game for instance sucked. I do have the Dogg Pound’s newest stuff and I love it, but it gets no play.
E-40 hit it pretty big back in like 2002-2003, when he paired up with Lil’ Jon. And Mac Dre all of a sudden got popular because he got shot, but my closest friends all grew up in San Jose and introduced me to that stuff back in the late ‘90’s anyway.
