Go Daddy now requires a photo I.D. to transfer a domain. #SOPA

Today is the official boycott Go Daddy day! If you currently use GD to host your domain, consider transferring today. 

I’m not sure what that would prove if they didn’t require it to register the domain.

Due to ICANN regulations, things can get a bit sticky when it comes to domains. However, if you have access to the account where you registered the domain, that is generally all that’s needed. GoDaddy is flirting with violating ICANN regulations here, as a registrar cannot hold a domain hostage. If you want to transfer it, you can. Ridiculous.
