What began as a trickle in August has now become a flood as more tech companies abandon the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC).
On Wednesday, Facebook said it would no longer be supporting the conservative think tank. While the company didn’t offer a specific reason for ending the relationship, the move came on the heels of an announcement Monday by Google that it would not be renewing its membership in ALEC at the end of the year.
Now if only Facebook would get moving…
Last December, just a few days before Christmas, Shelly Lynne Chartier, a 29-year-old recluse with a sixth-grade education, was in that courthouse, accused of masterminding an elaborate Web scam that ensnared both celebrities and their fans.
Authorities say her ruse was one of the most sophisticated they’ve ever seen. It lasted nearly three years and tormented at least 11 victims, including a B-list actress, a Playboy Playmate and even a member of the Kardashian-Jenner clan.
Chartier stood silently as the judge read the charges, then remanded her back to her hometown of nearby Easterville on house arrest. He also ordered her Internet access to be turned off immediately. Meanwhile, 2,600 miles away, Chris Andersen was in Miami, anxiously awaiting a call from his lawyer.
The 35-year-old NBA player was recovering from the previous night’s game while hoping for some news about the court appearance of the woman who had nearly destroyed his career, and his life.
This is simultaneously hilarious, sad, and scary.
what even is this?
I don’t even know what this is supposed to mean. When did Obama send Kenya $150 million? Alternatively, is it any more money than might have been sent there under George Bush (i.e.; generic foreign aid)? And really, since when is $150 million a lot of money, especially in comparison to the budgets of California and the federal government? That amount wouldn’t even begin to cover this state’s budget problems.
I wonder what it’s like to be that stupid. The world must be a very scary place for them.
This is a poll I posted to Facebook, so I’m not sure it will work if you’re not a friend of mine on there. Let me know if it doesn’t work.
